Duterte maliit ang tyansa na makadalo sa Independence Day celebration sa Lapu-Lapu City
Maliit ang tyansa na makadadalo si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa ‘National Commemoration of the Independence Day Celebration’ bukas, June 12, sa Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.
Sinabi ni National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) chairman of the board Dr. Rene Escalante na may Cabinet meeting ang pangulo Lunes ng gabi.
Kadalasan anyang tumatagal hanggang madaling araw ang Cabinet meeting kaya’t maaaring magpadala na lang ng kalihim ang pangulo upang maging kanyang kinatawan.
“He has a Cabinet meeting on the 11th and normally, Cabinet meetings lasted for sometimes until dawn,” ani Escalante.
Ani Escalante, napili ang Lapu-Lapu City para sa national commemoration bilang paghahanda na rin sa selebrasyon ng ika-500 taon ng Kristiyanismo sa bansa sa 2021.
Pangungunahan naman nina Vice President Leni Robredo at outgoing Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada ang paggunita sa Araw ng Kalayaan sa Luneta Park.
Magkakaroon ng flag raising at wreath-laying rites sa makasaysayang parke.
“I will be with the Vice President on June 12 for the Independence Day celebration,” ani Estrada.
Bukod sa Maynila at Lapu-Lapu City, anim na lugar pa sa bansa ang kasabay na magsasagawa ng Independence Day rites.
