Locsin: Ban sa pagdalo sa climate change forums abroad limitado lang sa DFA

Nilinaw ni Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. na ang ban sa air travel ng mga delegado para sa climate change conferences ay limitado lamang sa Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

Sa pamamagitan ng isang Twitter post, sinabi ng kalihim na pinili ng kanyang kagawaran na segundahan ang pagpapahayag ng inis ng pangulo na walang kwenta ang climate change conferences nang wala namang nagagawang aksyon.

Giit ni Locsin, magbibigay pa rin naman ng accreditation ang DFA para sa mga delegado mula sa Kongreso at ibang kagawaran na dadalo ng climate change forums sa ibang bansa.

“My ban on air travel to climate change forums is strictly limited to DFA. Of course Congress & all other Depts are free to go; We will accredit them. But we at DFA choose to follow the president’s displeasure with more climate talk instead of climate action finally.

Nauna nang inanunsyo ng kalihim noong nakaraang linggo na hindi na magpapadala ang Pilipinas ng mga delegado sa climate change conferences na nangangailangan ng air travel.

Ito ay kasunod ng pahayag ng pangulo sa isang business conference sa Japan na aksaya lamang sa oras at pera ang climate change forums dahil hindi naman natutugunan talaga ang problema.
