Ligtas ang ilang brand ng suka na gumagamit ng synthetic acetic acid.
Ito ang ginawang paglilinaw ni Health Secretary Francisco Duque III.
Ayon kay Duque, nagkaroon lamang ng paglabag sa polisiya at mislabeling sa mga suka.
Base sa unang pag-aaral ng Philippine Nuclear Research Institute (PNRI), 15 sa 17 brand ng suka sa bansa ang nagtataglay ng synthetic acetic acid na masama sa kalusugan.
Ayon kay Duque, dahil sa hindi naayon sa standard at regulation ng Food and Drug Administration (FDA) ang paggamit ng ilang brand ng suka sa synthetic acetic acid, mahaharap sila sa ilang consequences.
