Sotto: PhilHealth budget dapat suriin sa gitna ng ‘ghost’ dialysis treatment

Dapat magpaliwanag ang Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) kung paano nito ginagamit ang kanilang budget kasunod ng nabunyag na pagbabayad sa dialysis treatment ng isang taong patay na.

Ayon kay Senate President Vicente Sotto III, dapat dumaan sa pagsusuri ang pondo ng PhilHealth at ipaliwanag ng ahensya kung paano ito ginamit.

Kailangan anyang bulatlatin, halukayin ang PhilHealth budget sa gitna ng “ghost” dialysis claim.

Sa report ng Philippine Daily Inquirer, ibinunyag ni Edwin Roberto, dating empleyado ng WellMed Dialysis & Laboratory Center Corp (WellMed), nag-file ng claims ang center para sa dialysis ng mga pasyente na patay na.

Sinabi ni Roberto na binabayaran ng PhilHealth ang claim ng WellMed para sa dialysis nang hindi sinusuri kung valid ba ito.

Binanggit ni Sotto na sa deliberasyon ng Senado sa budget ng Department of Health (DOH) noong Enero, nabatikos ang PhilHealth dahil walang update ang resulta ng kanilang imbestigasyon.

Kinuwestyon pa ng Senador kung paano magiging epektibo ang universal health care kung nauubos lamang anya ang pondo ng PhilHealth sa maling paraan.
