P740M halaga ng pekeng produkto at smuggled goods nasabat sa Pasay at Maynila
Nakumpiska ng Bureau of Customs (BOC) ang samu’t saring pekeng mga produkto sa dalawang warehouse sa Maynila at Pasay.
Sa pahayag ng BOC araw ng Biyernes, aabot sa P740 milyon ang halaga ng counterfeit products.
Naganap ang unang raid sa warehouse sa Baclaran, Pasay noong May 21 kung saan nakumpiska ang pekeng mga sapatos, damit, cosmetics, laruan at cellphone accessories.
May nagsumbong sa mga awtoridad na ang warehouse ay pinagtataguan ng mga pekeng produkto bago ito maibenta sa merkado.
Sa sunod na raid naman sa isang warehouse sa Sta. Cruz, Maynila noong May 28, nasabat ang smuggled at hindi mga rehistradong medical products.
Kinumpiska ang mga produkto sa mga warehouse dahil sa paglabag sa mga probisyon ng Intellectual Property (IP) Code of the Philippines at Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA) of 2016.
