Duterte pinasalamatan dahil sa pagtanggol sa Marawi fund na ginamit sa Hajj pilgrimage
Pinasalamatan ng pinuno ng Task Force Bangon Marawi (TFBM) si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte dahil sa suporta nito sa gitna ng kontrobersiyal na paggamit sa Marawi fund para sa Hajj pilgrimage.
Sa isang text message sa mga mamamahayag, ipinahayag ni Secretary Eduardo Del Rosario ang pasasalamat sa suporta ng pangulo sa sponsorship ng TFBM sa Hajj pilgrimage ng 27 biktima ng Marawi siege.
“I am very grateful for the President’s expression of full support to TFBM’s sponsorhip of 27 IDPs (Internally Displaced Persons) to Hajj pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia,” ani Del Rosario.
Ayon kay Del Rosario, patunay lamang ang suporta ng pangulo sa malalim na pagkakaunawa nito sa kulturang Islam.
Magugunitang ipinag-utos ng Commission on Audit (COA) sa Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC) na ibalik ang P5 milyon na ginamit sa Hajj pilgrimage.
Sa talumpati sa Davao City, araw ng Huwebes, sinabi naman ng presidente na dapat muling ikonsidera ng COA ang ginawang paggasta sa pondong para sa Marawi rehab.
Ginamit naman anya ito para sa mahihirap na Muslim na bihirang nabibigyan ng pagkakataon na makapag-pilgrimage.
“I’m asking COA to reconsider. Ano ba naman ‘yang P5 million? Actually ‘yang P5 million is worth billions in terms of your kind, I said generosity, to finance the poor people, (the poor) Muslim para makapag-Hajj,” ani Duterte.
Nagbigay reaksyon na rin sina Senators Francis Pangilinan at Panfilo Lacson sa isyu at sinabing hindi mabibigyang katwiran ng relihiyon ang maling paggamit sa pondo na dapat ay para sa Marawi rehab.
“It is not a question of which is more important between religion and housing. It is about the crime of technical malversation,” ani Lacson.
“If we accept the President’s argument that all government officials can simply justify spending billions of government funds for whatever purpose other than that for which it was intended by law then it will be open season for corruption and misuse of public funds,” ani Pangilinan.
Samantala, snabi pa ni Del Rosario na ang halimbawa ni Duterte sa pamumuno ay isang inspirasyon upang pag-igihan pa nila ang pagpapatupad ng positibong mga pagbabago sa serbisyo-publiko.
