Sotto: Halos 95% ng committee chairmanships ayos na
Nadesisyunan na ang nasa 95 percent ng committee chairmanships sa Senado.
Ayon kay Senate President Vicente Sotto III, isa hanggang dalawang komite na lamang mayroong maliit na isyu.
Pahayag ito ni Sotto kasunod ng hapunan ng mga senador na inorganisa ni Senator Manny Pacquiao sa Makati City.
Kabilang sa mga isyung tinalakay sa dinner sa bahay ni Pacquiao ang mga mamumuno sa mga komite para sa 18th Congress.
“Ninety-five (95) percent. We assume all is well. Just 1 or 2 committees na lang…May kaunti na lang contentions na committee,” ani Sotto.
Ayon kay Sotto, ang bagong Senador na si Francis Tolentino ang magiging chairman ng committee on local government habang ang isang pang neophyte senator na si Imee Marcos ay nais ang ibang komite gaya ng Social Welfare and Rural Development.
Samantala, sinabi ni Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri na ang mga dumalo sa dinner ay sinabihang maglista ng mga komite na kanilang nais.
“Maaga din natapos. Kakaalis ko lang. Lista-lista lang muna [ng preferred committee] pero mukhang naayos na ni SP [Senate President Vicente Sotto III] ang mga problema sa committees,” ani Zubiri.
Bukod sa usapan ukol sa committee chairmanships, nagsilbi ring welcome dinner ang dinaluhan ng mga senador.
Bukod kina Sotto at Zubiri, ang mga dumalo sa dinner ay sina President Pro Tempore Ralph Recto; incumbent Senators Joel Villanueva, Sherwin Gatchalian, Grace Poe, at Richard Gordon; reelected Senator Sonny Angara at Nancy Binay; outgoing Senators Gringo Honasan at Loren Legarda; Senators-elect Imee Marcos, Francis Tolentino, Christopher “Bong” Go, at Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa; at ang nagbabalik-Senado na sina Lito Lapid at Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr.
