Bayan Muna: Smartmatic dapat tuluyan nang i-ban

Naniniwala ang isang grupo na hindi sapat na idiskwalipika ang Smartmatic sa susunod na automated elections.

Ayon kay Bayan Muna Party-list Rep. Carlos Zarate, kailangan na “perpetual ban” ang ipataw laban sa Smartmatic bilang provider ng vote counting machines (VCMs).

“Instead of further indulging this anomaly of a corporation, the ‘Smartmatic virus’ should be purged forever from our electoral process,” ani Zarate.

Reaksyon ito ng kongresista sa pahayag ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na tanggalin na ang Smartmatic at dapat nang maghanap ang Comelec ng bagong provider ng VCMs na anya’y walang bahid ng katiwalian.

Lumalabas anya na paborito ng Comelec ang Smartmatic dahil sa kabila ng mga aberya sa mga eleksyon ay ito pa rin ang namamahala sa automated elections sa bansa.

Dagdag ni Zarate, nalalagay sa alanganin ang susunod na presidential elections sa 2022 dahil sa seryosong duda sa legitimacy ng Smartmatic.

Una nang sinabi ng grupo na isusulong nila ang magkahalong manual at automated election system sa susunod na halalan.
