ASF walang panganib sa tao – DOH

Pinawi ng Department of Health ang pangamba ng marami sa African Swine Fever.

Sinabi ni Health Assistant Secretary Eric Tayag na hindi banta sa mga tao ang nasabing sakit at tanging ang mga baboy lang aniya ang maaapektuhan nito.

Sa kabila nito, iginiit ni Tayag na sinusuportahan nila ang pagbabawal sa importasyon ng mga pork products mula sa bansang mayroong ASF.

Nauna nang pinatigil ang Department of Agriculture ang pag-iisyu ng import clearance at ini-utos na rin ang pagpapa-alis sa mga pamilihan ng mga processed pork products mula sa bansang mayroong ASF.

Sa inilabas na advisory ng Food and Drug Administration (FDA) bawal ang pag-aangkat ng pork products mula sa bansang Vietnam, Zambia, South Africa, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Mongolia, Moldova, at Belgium.

Bukod pa ito sa naunang pork ban mula sa China, Hungary, Latvia, Poland, Romania, Russia, at Ukraine.
