PDP-Laban naghain ng vote buying complaint vs. Joy Bel Monte, Gian Sotto

Naghain ang mga opisyal ng PDP-Laban sa Quezon City ng reklamong vote buying laban kina Mayor-elect Joy Belmonte, Vice Mayor-elect Gian Sotto at congressional candidate Elizabeth Delarmente.

Sa tatlong pahinang reklamo, inaakusahan nina PDP-Laban Secretary General for Quezon City Edwin Rodriguez at campaign manager for QC Michael Defensor na bumili ng boto si Belmonte at ang kanyang mga kaalyado.

Naganap umano ang vote buying noong May 11 kung saan kasama nina Belmonte ang TV host na si Willie Revillame na nangampanya.

Ayon sa PDP-Laban, namigay ng pera si Revillame habang ineendorso ang grupo nina Belmonte at Sotto na kanilang igiiginiit na isang paglabag sa Omnibus Election Code.

Sa isang pahayag, pinabulaanan naman ni Pia Mirato, tagapagsalita ni Belmonte ang mga akusasyon ng PDP-Laban.

Ayon kay Morato, ang mga hakbang ni Revillame na mamahagi ng pera ay hindi bahagi ng kampanya nina Belmonte at mga kaalyado nito.

Anya pa, binanggit din mismo ni Revillame noong nagtanghal na ito na ang pera ay galing sa sariling niyang bulsa na kalimitang ginagawa ng TV host sa kanyang shows.

“Secondly, (Revillame) explicitly stated during the performance that he gave materials and cash out of his own funds. He was doing this as part of a routine – one that is so familiar to Filipino audiences nationwide. Indeed, what would a Willie Revillame show be without it?” ani Morato.

Handa naman umanong humarap sa imbestigasyon si Belmonte na may kaugnayan sa insidente.
