Agawan ng komite sa Senado hindi totoo ayon kay Legarda
Nilinaw ni Senator Loren Legarda na walang nangyayaring sigalot sa pagitan ng mga incumbent at incoming senators sa usapin ng paghawak sa mga komite sa Senado.
Ayon kay Legarda sa tuwing magsisimula ang Kongreso ay isyu ang pamumuno sa mga komite.
Kinumpirma din nito ang unang sinabi ni Senate President Vicente Sotto III na may mga komite na walang may gustong humawak at may mga komite na pinag-aagawan naman.
Samantala, inamin din ni Legarda na may ‘equity of the incumbent’ rule sa Senado na siyang ipinatutupad ng liderato nito.
Kaugnay pa nito, sinabi naman ni Senate Minority Leader Frank Drilon na sa mahigit dalawang dekada niya sa Senado palaging inirerepesto ang “tradition and seniority”.
Dagdag nito ang mga itinuturing na pangunahing komite tulad ng Blue Ribbon, Health, Education at iba pa ay palaging pinamumunuan ng senior senator.
” The senior ones would have preference and that’s the tradition.Of course, as I’ve said, it’s up to the majority whether or not they follow this tradition. But the incoming senators, maybe they should, as we say, learn the ropes first of how lawmaking in the Senate runs”, ayon pa kay Drilon.
