Pamahalaan pinasasagot ng SC sa inihaing kaso ng hinggil sa umano’y ‘red tagging’ sa ilang militanteng grupo
Pinasasagot ng Korte Suprema ang pamahalaan hinggil sa umano ay ‘red tagging’ sa ilang miyembro ng cause-oriented groups.
Sa resolusyon ng Supreme Court, pinaburan nito ang inihaing writs of amparo at habeas data ng mga grupong Karapatan, Rural Missionaries of the Philippines Inc. at GABRIELA (General Assembly of Women for Reforms, Integrity, Equality, Leadership and Action).
Binigyan lang ng Supreme Court ang gobyerno ng hanggang June 13 para maghain ng kasagutan.
Maliban kay Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte, respondent din sa nasabing kaso sina Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, National Security Adviser Hermogenes Esperon Jr., Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff Gen. Benjamin Madrigal Jr., Brig. Gen. Fernando Trinidad, Maj. Gen. Erwin Neri, Maj. Gen. Antonio Parlade Jr., Lt. Gen. Macairog Sabiniano Alberto, National Intelligence Coordinating Council (NICA) Director General Alex Paul Monteagudo at maraming iba pang opisyal.
Inatasan din ng SC ang Court of Appeals na magsagawa ng pagdinig para matukoy ang merito ng kaso sa June 18 at desisyunan 10 araw sa sandaling maging submitted ito for resolution.
Sa nasabing kaso, humihiling ng court protection ang mga nabanggit na grupo dahil sa banta umano sa kanilang seguridad.
Pinalalantad din nila sa gobyerno ang mga files at rekord na kinuha sa kanilang mga miyembro sa pamamagitan ng inihaing writ of habeas data.
