Pilipinas, tinanggal na ang ban sa mga isda mula sa Fukushima, Japan

Matapos ang pitong taon ay inalis na ng Pilipinas ang ban sa importasyon ng fish species mula sa Fukushima, Japan.

Ang pagtanggal sa ban ay inanunsyo ni Agriculture Secretary Manny Piñol Miyerkules ng gabi.

Ayon kay Piñol nilagdaan niya ang kautusan na nag-aalis sa ban noon pang Lunes.

Sinabi ng kalihim na isa itong ‘gesture of goodwill’ kasabay ng umaarangkadang working visit ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa Japan ngayong linggo.

Ipinatupad noong nakaraang administrasyon ang ban kung saan ipinagbawal sa bansa ang cherry salmon, sand lance, Japanese dace at ayu.

Iginiit ni Piñol na isa lamang bureaucratic exercise ang ginawang ban sa naturang mga isda at nagkaroon ng overreaction ang dating administrasyon dahil sa ‘di umano’y mataas na lebel ng radiation.
