Lacson pinangalanan ang Chinese national na nasa likod ng P1.8B drug shipment

Pinangalanan ni Senator Panfilo Lacson ang Chinese national na umanoy nasa likod ng P1.8 bilyong shabu shipment sa bansa noong March 22.

Ayon kay Lacson, si Zhijian Xu alyas Jacky Co ang responsble sa 276 kilos ng hinihinalang shabu na nakumpiska sa Manila International Container Port (MICP).

Dagdag ng Senador, ang droga na nakabalot sa packaging ng tsaa ay nakita sa 40-foot container.

Ang shipment ay ideneklarang plastic resin.

“We have it on good information that the main person responsible for this shipment is a Chinese national named Zhijian Xu alias Jacky Co, who was born in Fujian, China,” pahayag ni Lacson sa kanyang privilege speech sa Senado araw ng Miyerkules.

Ayon pa kay Lacson, si Co ay isa sa most wanted persons sa China at kabilang sa Interpol watchlist.

“Jacky Co, subject to ongoing verification by our local law enforcement agencies with their Southeast Asian counterparts, is said to be on the Interpol watch list and among the wanted personalities in China,” dagdag nito.

Inakusahan din ng Senador ang Chinese national na sangkot sa kidnapping sa Pilipinas na nanghihingi ng ransom sa pamamagitan ng wire transfer o offshore banking.

Ang huling kidnapping anya na kinasangkutan ni Co ay nagkakahalaga ng P250 milyon.

Sinabi pa ni Lacson na nasa Pilipinas si Co nang ipuslit ang droga sa bansa at pumunta ito sa Vietnam matapos masabat ang droga.

Kinuwestyon ng Senador kung paanong nakaalis si Co sa kabila ng “state of the art, biometrics-based system” ng mga computer sa lahat ng paliparan sa bansa.

“Hindi na nga nagmadaling tumakas, kampante pang lumipad mula sa NAIA [Ninoy Aquino International Airport],” ani Lacson.
