Comelec nakatanggap na ng 36 electoral protests

Patuloy ang paglobo ng electoral protest cases na natatanggap ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) matapos ang halalan noong May 13.

Ayon sa Comelec Electoral Contests Adjudication Department hanggang hapon ng Martes ay umabot na sa 36 ang naihaing electoral protests.

Hindi naman nagbigay ng iba pang detalye ang Comelec.

Noong nakaraang linggo, nauna nang sinabi ni Comelec spokesman James Jimenez na inaasahan pang darami ang bilang ng maghahain ng reklamo.

“We do have a penchant for filing complaints when we lose so we expect more,” ani Jimenez.

Sa ilalim ng umiiral na batas, ang protesta para sa mga senador ay ipinauubaya sa Senate Electoral Tribunal (SET) habang ang reklamo sa mga kongresista ay hinahawakan ng House of Representatives Electoral Tribunal (HRET).

Nasa hurisdiksyon naman ng Comelec head office ang mga protesta para sa city and provincial elective positions habang sa Regional Trial Courts naman ang sa municipal elective positions.
