Comelec: Turnout para sa sa overseas voting ngayong 2019 elections tumaas
Nagkaroon ng mas mataas na voter turnout sa overseas voting sa nagdaang May 13 midterm elections ayon sa Commission on Elections (Comelec) Office for Overseas Voting (OFOV).
Sa isang tweet, sinabi ni Comelec OFOV Director Elaiza David na 334,242 ang bumoto para sa overseas voting o 18.34 percent ang voter turnout.
Mas mataas anya ito sa 15.63 percent noong 2013 midterm elections kung saan 115,318 lamang ang bumoto.
Ang kabuuang bilang ng registered overseas absentee voters para sa May 13 elections ay 1,822,173.
Nauna nang sinabi ni Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez na kumpyansa silang magiging mas mataas nang kaunti ang turnout sa overseas voting ngayong taon.
Mas mababa naman ang voter turnout ngayong 2019 kumpara sa nagdaang presidential elections noong 2004 na may 64 percent, 2010 na may 26 percent, at 2016 na may 31 percent.
