Mga basura ibabalik sa Canada matapos ang fumigation
Ang basura na iligal na itinambak sa Pilipinas ay ibabalik sa Canada kapag natapos na ang fumigation sa lahat ng garbage containers.
Ayon kay Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr., 20 containers ng mga basura ang sumailalim na sa fumigation.
“20 fumigated, 40 GARBAGE containers plus to go. Now joint US-Philippine ops will shut down Subic and stop fumigation. Hey! Fumigators are not getting in your way,” tweet ni Locsin.
Hinimok ng kalihim ang Department of National Defense at United States Embassy in the Philippines na ituloy ang mga operasyon sa Subic at huwag itigil ang fumigation process.
Mahigit 100 containers ng basura ang dumating sa Pilipinas mula Ottawa, Canada noong 2013 at 2014.
Samantala, matapos ang pagpasok ng basura ng Australia sa bansa, tiniyak ni Locsin na hindi “comatose” ang gobyerno.
Ayon kay Locsin, hindi na papayagan ng pamahalaan na maulit pa ang pagtambak ng basura ng Canada sa bansa.
