Comelec patuloy sa pagtanggap ng electoral protests

Nasa limang electoral protests ang nakahain ngayon sa Commission on Elections (Comelec) matapos ang May 13 midterm elections.

Sinabi ni Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez na ang protesta ay mula sa Taguig, San Juan, Leyte, Kalinga at sa Negros.

Gayunman, posibleng tumaas pa ang bilang dahil hanggang kahapon ay magnaghahain pa ng kanilang protesta sa naging resulta ng halalan.

Ipinaliwanag ni Jimenez na ang petisyon para sa lokal na posisyon ay nasa hurisdiksyon ng poll body habang ang mga electoral protest para sa municipal mayor at iba pang mababang posisyon ay nasa ilalim ng Regional Trial Court.

Ang electoral protest naman para sa senators at sa miyembro ng House of Representatives ay nasa ilalim ng Senate Electoral Tribunal (SET) at sa House of Representatives Electoral Tribunal (HRET).

Nabatid naman na may sampung petisyon ang nakahain ngayon sa poll body laban kay dating National Youth Commission (NYC) chairman Ronald Cardema na kinukuwestyon ang pagiging kinatawan ng Duterte Youth partylist.
