Eastbound ng Marcos Bridge isasara simula May 25

Matapos ang ilang beses na pagpapaliban, tuloy na sa Sabado May 25 ang rehabilitasyon ng bahagi ng Marcos Bridge.

Ayon kay Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) General Manager Jojo Garcia, isasara ang eastbound ng Marcos Bridge simula alas 11:00 ng gabi.

“After two weeks of preparations, it is definite now. Marcos Bridge will be closed for the next four months to give way to its long-overdue rehabilitation,” ani Garcia.

Payo ng MMDA, ang mga light vehicles na pupunta sa Antiplo ay pwedeng gumamit ng westbound direction habang ang light vehicle papuntang Cubao ay maaaring gamitin ang service road sa harap ng SM Marikina.

Noong May 4 ang orihinal na petsa ng pagsasara ng tulay pero ipinagpaliban ito matapos lumabas sa ilang ocular inspections na hindi handa ang contractor na ituloy ang proyekto.

“Private contractors are now ready to push through with the rehabilitation after complying with the necessary requirements they need to address,” dagdag ni Garcia.

Dahil sa pagsasara ng Marcos Bridge, ang mga motorista ay pinayuhan ng ahensya na bisitahin ang kanilang social media pages para sa mga alternatibong ruta.

Noong 1979 itinayo ang tulay sa boundary ng Marikina at Pasig.

Kada araw ay nasa 6,400 ang average na mga sasakyan na dumaraan sa Marcos Bridge sa parehong direksyon.
