Registration ng ‘fake’ vinegar products babawiin ng FDA

Nais ng Food and Drug Administration (FDA) na bawiin ang certificates of product registration ng mga suka na gumagamit ng ‘synthetic acetic acid’.

Sa isang pahayag araw ng Martes, sinabi ni FDA officer-in-charge Rolando Enrique Domingo na patuloy na sinusuri ng ahensya ang mga produktong suka.

Iginiit ni Domingo na bagaman hindi talagang mapanganib sa kalusugan ang synthetic acetic acid, ang mga brands na gumagamit ng naturang kemikal ay dapat mabawian ng kanilang product registration dahil sa misdeclaration.

“Synthetic acetic acid may not be harmful per se, but products using such chemicals shall have their registration with the FDA revoked for misdeclaration,” ani Domingo.

Ayon kay Domingo, batay sa FDA standards, ang suka ay isang natural product na dapat ay gawa sa natural raw materials at sumailalim sa natural process ng fermentation.

Kung ang produkto anya ay naglalaman ng artificial matter tulad ng synthetic acetic acid, ikinukonsidera itong adulterated.

Hindi pa pinangalanan ng FDA ang brands ng suka na gumagamit ng synthetic acetic acid.
