Comelec tally: Villar No. 1 pa rin sa Senate race; Binay nasa 12th spot

Sa natitirang dalawang certificates of canvass (COC) na hindi pa nabibilang, nananatiling nangunguna si reelecionist Senator Cynthia Villar habang nakakapit pa rin sa Magic 12 ang kapwa reelectionist na si Nancy Binay.

Ito ay matapos mabilang ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) ang 165 mula sa 167 COC hanggang Lunes ng gabi.

Lumaki pa sa 203,666 votes ang lamang ni Binay sa pang-13 na si Senator JV Ejercito.

Ang mga botong na-tally nang mag-resume ang National Board of Canvassers (NBOC) alas 8:13 ng gabi ng Lunes ay mula sa Isabela, Japan at Nigeria.

Ang hindi pa nabibilang ay ang resulta ng overseas absentee voting (OAV) mula Saudi Arabia at Washington DC.

Delayed ang transmission ng mga resulta mula OAVs dahil sa corrupted SD cards at kailangan pang magdala ng replacement cards ang Comelec mula sa kanilang warehouse papunta sa mga apektadong lugar.

Samantala, ang COC mula sa Isabela ay delayed din dahil sinunog ang dalawang vote counting machines at ibang election paraphernalia ng mga armadong lalaki sa bayan ng Jones noong nakaraang linggo.
