Vote canvassing target makumpleto ng Comelec ngayong linggo

Umaasa ang Commission on Elections (Comelec) na matatapos nila ang canvassing ng lahat ng 167 certificates of canvass (COCs) ng May 13 elections sa linggong ito.

Ayon kay Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez, nangangahulugan itong ang formal proclamation ng mga nagwaging senador ay hindi posible ngayong linggo.

Ito ay dahil marami pa anyang kailangan gawin ang Comelec partikular ang mga imbitasyon para sa proklamasyon.

“We expect to finish everything within the week but the formal proclamation may not be this week because there are a lot of invites (to do). But we will know the results very soon,” ani Jimenez.

Kadalasang nagpapadala ng imbitasyon ang Comelec sa mga opisyal ng gobyerno at pamilya ng mga nahalal sa pagkasenador.

Nanindigan naman si Jimenez sa una niyang pahayag na sabay-sabay na ipoproklama ang 12 bagong senador ng bansa tulad nang naganap noong 2016 elections.

Noong nakalipas na mga eleksyon ay unang iprinoklama ang top 6.

“That is our goal because in the past, we proclaim the first six. It will be like during the 2016 polls where we proclaimed all of them in one occasion,” ayon kay Jimenez.

Miyerkules ng gabi, umabot na sa 89 certificates of canvass (COC) sa kabuuang 167 ang nabilang ng Comelec na umuupo bilang National Board of Canvassers (NBOC).
