MMDA nakakolekta ng 7 truck ng election trash

Umabot sa 21,700 piraso ng election-related materials o katumbas ng pitong trak ang nakolekta ng Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) matapos ang May 13 midterm elections.

Ayon sa post-cleanup report ng MMDA, umabot sa 23.42 tonelada ang mga basura noong May 14, isang araw matapos ang eleksyon.

Dahil dito, umabot na sa kabuuang 168.84 tonelada ang election-related materials ang nakolekta mula March 1 hanggang May 14.

Ayon kay MMDA Chairman Danilo Lim, target ng ahensya na malinis sa campaign materials ang mga pangunahing kalsada sa Metro Manila ngayong linggong ito.

Nais anya ng MMDA na maagang makapaghanda sa pagbubukas ng klase sa susunod na buwan.

“We target to rid the major roads in the metro of campaign materials and spruce up public schools until this week so the public can prepare for the opening of classes next month early,” ani Lim.

Gamit ang scraper at sprayer, binaklas ng clearing operation teams ang election paraphernalia na idinikit sa mga pader at bakod sa mga pangunahing kalsada.

Binaklas din ang mga tarpaulins at posters na nakasabit sa mga poste ng kuryente, kable at mga puno habang nilinis naman ng street sweepers ang labas ng mga paaralan mula sa mga leaflets, sample ballots at flyers.
