PPCRV: Pagbalik sa manual elections paurong hindi pasulong

Iginiit ng Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) na ‘paurong’ ang pagbabalik sa manual elections at hindi nito mareresolba ang mga isyung kinahaharap ng automated election system.

Ito ay matapos ipanawagan ng iilan ang pagbabalik sa manual election system matapos ang problema sa transparency server noong Lunes at Martes.

Ayon kay PPCRV National Chairperson Myla Villanueva, mahirap nang bumalik sa manual system dahil mas sanay na ngayon ang mga tao sa teknolohiya.

“Why will we go back to manual when we are so used to automated. We have people who are so used to automated. It’s moving back, it’s not solving the problem. It’s moving backward in time instead of moving forward in time, it’s not solving the problem,” ani Villanueva.

Nanindigan si Villanueva para sa automated election system at mabilis anya ang transmission nito ng resulta.

Normal din umano ang malfunctioning ng mga makina at nasa isang porsyento lang naman ang mga makinang nagkaroon ng problema ngayong taon.

Ipinakukumpara rin ng PPCRV official sa mga tao ang naging mga problema sa manual at automated systems.

Personal anya niyang naranasan ang blackouts habang nagbibilang noong manual pa ang botohan at may mga insidente rin ng nakawan ng balota.

Maaari anyang magsagawa ng survey kung anong sistema ang gusto ng mga Filipino para sa halalan.

“Let us remember those times when manual elections were used and weigh those with our problems today. Then, let’s ask our countrymen through surveys what their preference is,” ani Villanueva.
