Comelec: Proklamasyon sa mananalong mga senador hindi pwedeng suspendihin

Hindi payag ang Commission on Elections (Comelec) sa panawagang suspendihin ang proklamasyon ng mananalong 12 senador sa gitna ng mga alegasyon ng dayaan noong May 13 elections.

Ayon kay Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez, hindi maaaring suspendihin ang proklamasyon batay lamang sa mga alegasyong hindi suportado ng ebidensya.

Iginiit ni Jimenez na kung ang isang alegasyon ay sapat para ipagpaliban ang proklamasyon ay walang kahit anong magiging proklamasyon dahil lahat ng natalo ay maaaring ipilit na sila ay nadaya.

“If an allegation of fraud was enough to suspend a proclamation, then there would never be any proclamation because if I were losing, all I’d have to do is allege fraud and everything comes to a standstill,” ani Jimenez.

Sinabi ni Jimenez na bagaman may ilang naging problema sa proseso ay hindi nito maaapektuhan ang integridad ng eleksyon.

Anya pa, naipaliwanag na ng Comelec ang dahilan ng pagkakabalam ng transmission ng boto at lahat ng interesadong partido ay maaari namang magsagawa ng validation sa resulta.

Ang pahayag ng Comelec ay kaugnay ng panawagan ng Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) – National Secretariat for Social Action (NASSA) na suspendihin ang proklamasyon ng mga nanalo sa national elections.
