Ito ay dahil magdaragdag ang Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEx) ng 20 lane sa mga toll plaza.
Sa inilabas na pahayag, sinabi ng North Luzon Expressway (NLEx) Corporation na sisimulan ang toll plaza capacity expansion project sa buwan ng Hulyo at matatapos sa buwan ng Nobyembre.
Ayon kay Luigi Bautista, presidente at general manager ng NLEx Corporation, layon nitong mapabilis ang toll transactions lalo na tuwing rush hour at holiday.
Sakop ng proyekto ang mga toll plaza sa Clark North, Clark South, San Miguel, Bamban (Tarlac) at Tarlac.
Magtatayo ng tig-isang toll lane sa entry/exit ng Clark North, at Clark South B exit.
Tig-dalawang lane naman ang idadagdag sa Clark South A exit at Tarlac entry/exit.
Samantala, itatayo naman ang dalawang lane sa San Miguel northbound entry at southbound exit at isa pang toll lane sa northbound exit.
Samantala, ang bubuksang Bamban interchange ay magkakaroon ng tatlong entry at tatlong exit lanes.
