Comelec: 1,000 SD cards nagka-aberya sa araw ng eleksyon

Nasa 1,000 na mga SD cards ang nagka-aberya sa mismong araw ng eleksyon Lunes May 13.

Ayon kay Comelec Spokesman James Jimenez, ang naturang bilang ng SD cards ay nangangahulugan ng mula 400 hanggang 600 vote counting machines.

“A thousand SD cards have experienced issues which translates to about 400 to 600 VCMs (Vote Counting Machines),” pahayag ni Jimenez sa press conference.

Ayon naman kay Comelec Commissioner Rowena Guanzon, ang bilang ng SD cards na nagka-aberya ay halos 10 beses na mas mataas kumpara noong 2016 elections.

Sinabi ni Guanzon na ang supplier ay nag-alok sa Comelec ng pinaka-mababang bid para sa SD cards.

Susuriin anya ng ahensya kung may pananagutan ang supplier ng SD cards batay sa kanilang kontrata.

Samantala, bukod sa SD cards, nakatanggap din ng report ang Comelec kaugnay ng voter registration verification machines (VRVMs) kung saan inilalagay ng botante ang kanyang daliri para sa identification bago bumoto.

“Yung operating issues range from yung mga voters hindi alam kung paano gamitin all the way to yung VRVM talagang hindi na nagfunction (Operating issues range from voters not knowing how to use the VRVM to devices not functioning at all),” ani Jimenez.
