Pinayuhan ang mga motorista at pasahero na magkaroon ng dagdag na pasensya bukas Biyernes May 10 dahil sa inaasahang matinding trapik sa Metro Manila.
Sa kanyang Facebook post, inisa-isa ni MMDA EDSA traffic head Bong Nebrija ang ilang mga mangyayari na magiging dahilan ng trapik sa huling araw ng pasok bago ang weekend at eleksyon sa Lunes.
Kabilang sa mga dahilan na binanggit ni Nebrija ang kanselasyon ng number coding scheme sa mga provincial buses sa Metro Manila, mga motorcade sa ilang bahagi ng EDSA, political rallies at posibleng maulan na panahon.
“Hey guys so here’s what to expect tomorrow: 1st- Lifted ang coding ng provincial buses so there will be more buses on Edsa and many people on the 47 terminals on Edsa in Pasay and Quezon City; 2nd- There will be motorcades in some parts of Edsa and other major thoroughfares tomorrow both in the morning and afternoon,” ani Nebrija.
“3rd- There will political rallies tomorrow as part of the last hurrah of campaign all over Metro Manila. This will affect inner roads that might spill over the major thoroughfares and even on Edsa; 4th- We will have 60% chance of rain in the afternoon (as per iPhone Weather); 5th- It’s FRIDAY (Alam na!),” dagdag nito.
Ayon kay Nebrija, ginawa niya ang post hindi para takutin ang publiko kundi para ipaalam lang ang ilang pangyayari sa Biyernes na pwedeng maging dahilan ng mabagal na daloy ng trapiko sa mga pangunahing lansangan sa Metro Manila.
“It was not to scare them, I just want to inform them of the events tomorrow so they will not be surprised. Ang hope natin hindi na sumabay ang ulan sa uwian ng mga tao,” paliwanag ng opisyal.
Payo nito, para maiwasan ang trapik dapat sundin ng mga commuters ang mga batas trapiko para walang aberya sa kalsada sanhi ng traffic violation at para nakatuon ang traffic enforcers sa pagmando ng trapiko imbes na pag-asikaso sa traffic violators.
Dagdag ni Nebrija, ordinaryong araw lang ang turing ng MMDA sa Biyernes kung saan nakatalaga ang 1,700 traffic enforcers sa buong Metro Manila at mahigit 100 naman sa EDSA.
Paalala pa ng opisyal, maging mahinahon kapag naipit sa matinding trapik.
