Presyo ng imported na karne nakaambang tumaas

May inaasahang taas-presyo sa imported na karne sa mga darating na buwan ayon sa Meat Importers and Traders Association (MITA).

Ito ay dahil sa epekto ng African swine fever (ASF) partikular sa China na pinakamalaking producer ng pork sa buong mundo.

Sa ngayon ay binibili umano ng China ang halos lahat ng imported meat sa buong mundo para tiyaking sapat ang kanilang suplay

Ang pagtaas ng demand sa China ay may epekto rin sa ibang karne gaya ng manok, baka at iba pang alternatibo sa karne ng baboy.

Inaasahan ang taas-presyo sa imported ham, tocino, atay, tainga, at pisngi ng baboy.

Samantala, positibo naman ang Department of Agriculture (DA) na magandang pagkakataon sa lokal hog raisers ang pagtaas sa presyo ng imported meat.
