El Shaddai leader Mike Velarde may karapatang mag-endorso ayon sa ilang obispo
Karapatan umano ni El Shaddai leader Bro. Mike Velarde ang mag-endorso ng mga kandidato para sa eleksyon.
Ayon kay Novaliches Emeritus Bishop Teodoro Bacani, hindi naman direktang pag-uutos sa mga miyembro ng El Shaddai na iboto ang inendorso ng kanilang lider.
“Bro. Mike has a right to make endorsements. That is according to Catholic teaching. But his endorsement is not a command to his followers though they must consider it seriously,” ani Bacani.
Iginiit ng obispo na siya ring spiritual director ng nasabing Catholic charismatic group na dapat pa ring bumoto ang mga tao nang naaayon sa kanilang konsensya.
“They must still vote according to their conscience for those people who wil be good for the country,” dagdag ni Bacani.
Samantala, sinabi naman ni Manila Auxiliary Bishop Broderick Pabillo na karapatan ng kahit sino ang mag-endorso.
Gayunman, umaasa anya siya na ang bawat pag-endorso ay isinagawa habang isinasaalang-alang ang kabutihang panlahat.
“I hope the endorsement was done with the common good in mind,” ani Pabillo.
Naniniwala naman ang obispo na kailangan ang isang malayang Senado dahil mayorya ng mga inendorso ni Velarde ay pambato ng administrasyon.
