Palasyo: Proteksyon ng marine ecosystem prayoridad ng gobyerno

Iginiit ng Malakanyang na prayoridad ng gobyerno ang proteksyon ng marine environment ng West Philippine Sea.

Ayon kay Presidential Spokesman Salvador Panelo, nangunguna pa rin sa agenda ng pamahalaan ang proteksyon ng marine ecosystem sa teritoryo ng bansa.

“We stress that the essence of such writ of kalikasan, which is the protection of the marine ecosystem of the West Philippine Sea is already a top concern and agenda of the government,” ani Panelo.

Pahayag ito ng kalihim kasunod ng paglalabas ng Korte Suprema ng writ of kalikasan para maprotektahan ang marine environment sa Scarborough Shoal, Ayungin Shoal at Panganiban Reef.

Nakasaad sa writ of kalikasan na dapat protektahan ng gobyerno at irehabilitate ang marine areas sa West Philippine Sea na inangkin ng China o pinaliligiran ng mga Chinese vessels.

Ayon kay Panelo, ipapaubaya nila sa Solicitor General ang pagdepensa at pagpapaliwanag sa mga aksyon ng pamahalaan.

Binanggit ng opisyal na naghain na ang administrasyon ng diplomatic protests para igiit na pag-aari ng Pilipinas ang mga teritoryo sa West Philippine Sea.

Giit pa ni Panelo, patuloy ang commitment ng gobyerno na protektahan ang soberenya ng Pilipinas.
