Inihayag ng Philippine National Police (PNP) araw ng Martes na nasa 143,000 na mga pulis ang itatalaga sa buong bansa para magbantay sa May 13 elections.
Ayon kay PNP spokesmand Col. Bernard Banac, layon ng hakbang na matiyak ang seguridad ng publiko sa halalan.
“Handang-handa na po ang Philippine National Police at ang AFP (Armed Forces of the Philippines) po natin. Ang kabuuan ay 143,000 na mga PNP personnel ang idedeploy sa buong bansa,” ani Banac.
Dagdag ng opisyal, patuloy ang maigting na implementasyon ng pulisya ng election gun ban at checkpoints.
Sa May 7, ang PNP at Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) ay magkakaroon ng send-off ceremony Sa Camp Aguinaldo para sa mga pulis na magsisilbi sa eleksyon.
