PNP iimbestigahan ang kontrobersya sa kumpanyang Huawei

Inutusan ni Philippine National Police (PNP) chief General Oscar Albayalde ang Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management na imbestigahan ang alegasyon ng ibang bansa laban sa Chinese company na Huawei.

Hakbang ito ni Albayalde matapos malaman na ang Huawei ang pinakamalaking sponsor sa PNP Anti-Cybercrime Summit kamakailan.

Una nang nagbabala si US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo sa Pilipinas laban sa pagpasok sa kasunduan o pagkakaroon ng kontrata sa Huawei sa gitna ng alegasyon na ang tech company ay pwedeng gamitin ng gobyerno ng China sa spying.

Kamakailan ay pumasok ang Pilipinas sa P20 billion contract sa state-owned China International Telecommunication Construction Corporation (CITCC) para sa tinatawag na “Safe Philippines” emergency response and monitoring system.

Ang Huawei ang magbibigay ng equipment kabilang ang mga CCTV cameras.

Ikinaalarma ng ilang sektor na pwede itong abusuhin ng Chinese government dahil magkakaroon ang Huawei ng access sa mga sensitibong impormasyon.
