DILG, ipinag-utos sa LGUs na huwag maglabas ng business permit kung walang septic system

Ipinag-utos ng Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) sa mga local government unit (LGU) na huwag maglabas ng business permit sa mga establisimiyento na walang septic system.

Sa inilabas na pahayag, sinabi ni DILG Secretary Eduardo Año na dapat maging aral ang kinahitnan ng Manila Bay kung saan naging isa aniyang ‘gigantic septic tank’ at ang pagkakalarawan sa Boracay bilang ‘virtual cesspool.’

Dapat aniyang maging istrikto ang mga LGU sa paglalabas ng business permit.

Tiyakin aniyang dumaan ang mga business owner sa iba’t ibang clearance tulad ng discharge permits at environmental sanitation certificates mula sa Department of Health (DOH), Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA) at iba pang ahensya.

Binanggit pa ni Año ang nakasaad sa DILG Memorandum Circular 2019-62 na dapat siguruhin ng lahat ng LGU na may tamang sewage treatment at septage management system ang mga residential, pribado at pampublikong establisimiyento.

Hindi rin dapat aniya hayaang nakakonekta sa waterways ang wastewater nang walang proper treatment.

Hinikayat din ang mga kainan na maglagay ng oil at grease trap sa kanilang establisimiyento.
