Pilipinas makikibahagi sa World Expo 2020 na gaganapin sa Dubai
Kabilang ang Pilipinas sa makikibahagi sa World Expo 2020 na gaganapin sa Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Sa bisa ng Executive Order number 17, iniutos na ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang pagbuo ng Philippine Organizing Committee na mag-aasikaso sa pagdalo ng bansa sa expo.
Nakasaad sa EO na ang pagdalo sa expo ay oportunidad para sa Pilipinas upang mas mapabuti pa ang presensya ng bansa global scale at maipromote ang commercial at public interest sa Gitnang Silangan. Africa at South Asia.
Ang organizing committee ay pamumunuan ng kalihim ng Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) bilang chairperson at commissioner-general.
Bahagi rin ng komite ang mga kalihim ng tourism, foreign affairs, budget and management, labor and employment, science and technology, at information and communications technology departments.
Ang komite ay responsable sa pagbuo ng theme at mensahe na dadalhin ng Pilipinas sa expo para sa promosyon ng bansa.
Ang pondo ng komite ay kukunin sa contingent fund ng 2019 national budget.
Ang World Expo ay magaganap sa pagitan ng Oct. 20, 2020 at April 10, 2021.
