Xi nangako ng P7.7B grant sa Pilipinas

Nangako si Chinese President Xi Jinping ng 1 billion yuan o P7.7 billion na tulong sa Pilipinas sa ilalim ng Belt and Road Initiative.

Ayon kay Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo, may commitment din si Xi na aangkat ang China ng mas maraming prutas mula sa Pilipinas.

Inihayag ng Chinese leader ang pangako sa bilateral meeting kay Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte kasabay ng second Belt and Road Forum sa Beijing.

Dahil sa magandang unayan ng dalawang bansa, nadagdagan ang import ng China sa mga manga at pinya mula sa Pilipinas.

Sa ilalim ng naturang infrastructure plan, plano ng China na kumonekta sa Africa, Europe at natitirang bahagi ng China sa pamamagitan ng pagtatayo ng mga pantalan, kalsada, railways at industrial parks.

“We consider the BRI (Belt and Road Initiative) as articulated by PRRD (President Rodrigo Roa Duterte) as another opportunity to renew and reaffirm our valued relationship, which we must continue to foster in the coming years with an aspiration that our fellow Filipinos will feel the true benefits of the PH-China relations,” ani Panelo.

Bukod dito, nangako rin si Xi ng patuloy na donasyon ng bigas at ibang produkto sa Pilipinas.
