Duterte inireklamo kay Xi ang panghihimasok ng China sa West Philippine Sea

Pinaalalahanan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte si Chinese President XI Jinping ukol sa panghihimasok ng China sa West Philippine Sea at iginiit nito na hindi dapat nagsisiraan ang magkaalyado.

Ayon kay Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo, binanggit ng Pangulo sa Chinese President ang sitwasyon sa Pag-asa Island sa kanilang bilateral meeting kasabay ng second Belt and Road Forum sa Beijing.

Pero nagkasundo anya ang Pilipinas at China na resolbahin ang agawan ng teritoryo sa pamamagitan ng bilateral mechanisms na hindi makakasama sa ugnayan at economic cooperation ng dalawang bansa.

“Both agree that the situation can be managed by the mechanism of bilateral negotiations but it should not affect the cooperation being undertaken by both the Philippines and China and they look forward to a productive discussion on matters of mutual concern and interests,” ani Panelo.

Dagdag ni Panelo, nagkasundo rin ang Pilipinas at China na magkaroon ng bukas na komunikasyon sa isyu ng maritime row.

Sa bilateral meeting kay Duterte, binanggit ni Xi ang memorandum of understanding ukol sa kooperasyon sa oil at gas exploration sa South China Sea.

Sinabi pa ng kalihim na sa huli ay iginiit ni Pangulong Duterte sa Chinese leader na kaalyado ng China ang Pilipinas sa Southeast Asia.

Iginiit din anya ng Pangulo na bilang magkaalyado, dapat na pinalalakas ng Pilipinas at China ang bawat isa at hindi nagsisiraan ang dalawang bansa.
