Marinduque Airport muling binuksan para sa mga commercial flights

Matapos makumpleto ang rehabilitation ng Passenger Terminal Building at extended runway muling binuksan para sa commercial flight operation ang Marinduque Airport sa bayan ng Gasan.

Pinangunahan ni Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Arthur Tugade ang pagpapasinaya sa bagong develop na paliparan.

Sinabi ng kalihim na ang pagsasaayos ng mga paliparan ay bahagi ng transport infrastructure campaign ng administrasyong Duterte upang mapalakas at mapabilis ang mobility at maging konektado ang lahat ng rehiyon sa bansa.

Kabilang sa rehabilitasyon ng passenger terminal building ang pagpapalit ng accordion walls na may class wall, pagkakabit ng mga airconditioning units, CCTV cameras at Xray machines.

Ito ayon kay Tugade ay para sa convenient at ligtas na paliparan.

Ipinagmalaki rin nito ang mas efficient runway kung saab mulq sa dating 1,400 meters na asphalt runway ito ngayon ay 1, 534 meter at kongreto pa.

Natapos anya ang paggawa rito noong November 2018 dahilan upang kaya nitong mag accommodate ng mga turbo crop aircrafts.

Binuksan ang Marinduque Airport noong taong 2010 pero huling lumipad ang commercial flight dito noong Mayo ng taong 2013.
