National marathon champion na si Rafael Poliquit Jr., pumanaw sa edad na 30

Pumanaw na sa edad na 30 ang three-time Milo Marathon men’s champion na si Rafael Poliquit Jr. araw ng Huwebes.

Sa pahayag ng Philippine Sports Commission, pumanaw si Poliquit alas-2:21 ng hapon sa V. Luna Medical Center dahil sa mga komplikasyon ng sakit na subdural empyema.

Si Poliquit na tubong Tagum ay nagwagi sa Milo Marathon sa mga taong 2014, 2015 at 2018.

Noong 2018 naitala ng marathoner ang kanyang personal best na 2 hours 28 minutes at 47 seconds.

Taong 2016 ay inirepresenta rin ni Poliquit ang bansa sa 2016 Boston Marathon.

Ayon sa PSC, ang marathoner dapat ang kinatawan ng Pilipinas sa 2019 Southeast Asian Games sa Subic.

Nagpasalamat ang komisyon sa lahat ng naging kontribusyon ni Poliquit sa Philippine Sports.
