Meralco: Rotating brownouts tuloy sa mga susunod na araw
Nag-abiso ang Manila Electric Company (Meralco) na tuloy-tuloy pa rin ang mararanasang rotating brownouts sa mga susunod na araw sa Luzon dahil sa pagkumpuni ng mga planta ng kuryente.
Araw ng Miyerkules ay isinailalim sa red alert status ang Luzon Grid dahil sa pagnipis ng reserba ng kuryente bunsod ng mga plantang bumigay at bumaba ang kapasidad.
Nagkaroon ng rotating brownout na tumagal ng isang oras kahapon sa Quezon City, Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, Valenzuela, Bulacan, Cavite, Batangas at Laguna.
Ayon kay Energy Usec. Wimpy Fuentebella, umabot sa 1,352 megawatts ang nawalang kuryente sa Luzon bunsod ng pagpalya ng Sual Unit 1, SLPGC Unit 2, Pagbilao Unit 3, SLTEC Unit 1, Malaya Unit 1 at Calaca Unit 1.
Sinabi naman ng Meralco na dahil sa kukumpunihin pa mula April 13 hanggang April 21 ang mga planta ay magpapatuloy ang rotational brownouts.
