Sapat na suplay ng kuryente sa Metro Manila tiniyak ng DOE

Tiniyak ng Department of Energy (DOE) na hindi kailangang magkaroon ng power service interruption para sa mga kostumer ng Meralco sa Metro Manila.

Ito ay sa kabila ng pagsasa-ilalim ng National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) sa Luzon Grid sa Red Alert status.

Sa inilabas na pahayag, ipinaliwanag ng DOE na walang inaasahang power interruption dahil mayroong available na 174.6 megawatts sa ilalim ng Interruptible Load Program (ILP) kung saan kasama ang Meralco.

Sinabi pa ng kagawaran na maaari namang boluntaryong gumamit ng stand-by power generators ang mga kumpanya sa ilalim ng ILP sakaling kulangin sa reserba ng kuryente.

Nauna dito ay nanawagan ang Meralco sa mga kumpanyang bahagi ng ILP na pansamantala munang gumamit ng kanilang mga generator sets para hindi kapusin ang suplay ng kuryente sa Luzon grid.
