Nasa kamay na ni Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea ang draft ng executive order para sa water security.
Ayon kay Cabinet Secretary Karlo Alexi Nograles, ‘approved in principle’ na ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang EO.
Ayon kay Nograles, inaprubahan ng pangulo ang EO nang magsagawa ng cabinet meeting sa Palasyo.
Nasa tanggapan na ni Medialdea ang EO at dumadaan na lamang sa masusing pag-aaral.
Oras aniyang matapos ang pagbusisi sa EO, lagda na lamang ni Pangulong Duterte ang kailangan para mailabas na ang naturang kautusan.
“In principle, the President has already approved it [EO] during the last Cabinet meeting. So the draft has been given to the Office of the Executive Secretary already for vetting. So finalization na lang ‘yun ng draft, pipirmahan na lang ‘yun ng Pangulo,” pahayag ni Nograles.
Nakapaloob aniya sa probisyon ng EO ang pag-reconstitute sa National Water Resources Board na gawing isang body na magiging responsable sa integration ng lahat ng government efforts may kaugnayan sa tubig.
Inaatasan ang body na bumalangkas ng national water management master plan para matugunan ang problema sa tubig.
