P250M na halaga ng exotic animals nakumpiska sa Davao Oriental

Aabot sa P250,000,000 na halaga ng mga exotic na hayop ang nasabat sa Mati City, Dacao Oriental.

Ang mga hayop ay kinabibilangan ng palm cockatoos, lizards, at wallabies, na pawang galing ng Indonesia.

Ayon kay Dr. Rogelio Demelletes Jr., senior ecosystems management specialist ng DENR, nakatanggap sila ng tip na mga smuggled na hayop na galing sa nasabing bansa.

Ang nasabing mga exotic animals ay naibebenta sa mga animal collector ng hanggang P300,000.

Inaresto naman ang dalawang lalaking nadatnan sa Barangay Dahican na nag-iingat sa nasabing mga hayop.

Kasong paglabag sa RA 9147 o Wildlife Resources Convervation and Protection Act ang kanilang kakaharapin.
