SRP sa tamban inihirit para bumaba ang presyo ng sardinas

Hiniling ng mga manufacturers sa gobyerno na magtakda ng suggested retail price sa isdang tamban para makatulong sa pagbaba ng presyo ng de latang sardinas.

Ayon kay Bombit Buencamino, executive director ng Canned Sardines Manufacturers Association of the Philippines, hindi pa bumababa ang presyo ng tamban kahit fishing season na.

Matapos anya ang closed fishing season mula December hanggang February, dapat ay marami na ang tamban na magpapababa naman sa presyo ng sardinas.

Ang problema anya ay hindi ito nangyayari dahil hindi nakakahuli ng tamban ang mga mangingisda.

Binanggit din ni Buencamino ang batas ukol sa zoning na nagtatakda ng 15-kilometer limit sa mga commercial fishing vessels.

Sa ngayon ay nasa P30 ang kilo ng tamban, P2 na mababa sa dating presyo bago magsimula ang fishing ban.

Dati anya ay nasa P16 hanggang P18 ang presyo ng kada kilo ng tamban pero tumaas ito dahil sa mataas na presyo ng petrolyo at TRAIN Law kaya hindi makapagbaba ng presyo ng sardinas ang mga manufacturers.

Samantala, bukas naman si Trade Sec. Ramon Lopez sa pagtatakda ng SRP sa tamban pero kokonsultathin pa nila ang Department of Agriculture dahil produktong pang-agrikultura ang naturang isda.
