Agri products na sinira ng El Niño umabot na sa P4.5-B ayon sa DA

Iniulat ng Department of Agriculture na mas lalo pang lumaki ang pinsala ng El Niño sa sektor ng agrikultura.

Sa ulat ng Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Operations Center (DRRM) ng Department of Agriculture, umabot na sa P4.5 Billion ang halaga ng mga pananim na nasira at livestock na apektado sa matinding init ng panahon.

Kanilang ipinaliwanag na ito ay 227.06 percent na mas mataas sa kanilang unang pagtaya na P1.3 Billion.

Ayon pa sa ulat ng DRRM, sa Cordillera Autonomous Region (CAR) pa lamang ay umabot na sa 149,494 hectares ang apektado ng matinding init ng panahon.

Kabilang rin sa mga pinaka-apektadong lugar sa bansa ay ang Region 5 o Bicol Region, Bangsamo Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), Region 10, Region 4B at Region 7 o Central Visayas.

Sa kabuuan ay umaabot sa 233,006 metric tons (MT) ng mga pananim ang nasira na ng El Niño at malaking bahagi nito ay binubuo ng palay at mais.

Sinabi pa ng DA sa kanilang ulat na P95.875 Million na halaga ng financial assistance mula sa Agricultural Credit Policy Council ang kanilang inilaan na sa Survival and Recovery Assistance Program bilang alalay sa 3,835 mga apektadong magsasaka.
