Central Visayas, nasa red alert status bunsod ng NPA anniversary at local campaign
Itinaas ng mga otoridad sa red alert status ang buong Central Visayas region.
Ito ay bunsod ng ika-50 anibersaryo ng New People’s Army (NPA) at sa pagsisimula ng campaign period para sa mga lokal na kandidato sa 2019 midterm elections.
Ayon kay Police. Brig. Gen. Debold Sinas, director ng Police Regional Office sa Central Visayas, nakatanggap sila ng direktiba mula sa mga mas mataas na opisyal ukol sa pagpapatupad ng mas mahigpit na seguridad sa lugar.
Nakipagpulong na aniya ang kanilang hanay sa iba pang law enforcement agency sa Dumaguete para sa security preparation sa lugar.
Maliban dito, inabisuhan aniya ng Armed Forces of the Philippines Central Command (AFP-Centcom) ang pagdaragdag ng mga naka-deploy na pulis sa pagpapatrolya sa rehiyon.
Matatandaang nagkaroon ng engkwentro sa pagitan ng pulisya at NPA makaraang atakihin ng rebeldeng grupo ang istasyon ng pulisya sa Victoria, Northern Samar.
