Pemberton mananatili pansamantala sa Camp Aguinaldo

Bago mag 7pm kanina ay nakaalis na sa Olongapo City Regional Trial Court Building si U.S Marine Lance Corporal Joseph Scott Pemberton kasama ang kanyang mga Amerikanong escorts.

Tumagal din ng halos ay tatlong oras ang standoff sa loob ng nasabing gusali dahil tumanggi ang kampo ni Pemberton na ibigay siya sa mga tauhan ng Philippine National Police.

Ang mga operatiba ng PNP ang siyang naatasan na maghatid kay Pemberton sa New Bilibid Prisons makaraan siyang hatulan ng guilty sa kasong homicide dahil sa pagpatay sa Filipino transgender na si Jeffrey “Jennifer” Laude.

Pero kalaunan ay lumambot din ang posisyon ni Branch 74 Judge Roline Ginez Jabilde at bumigay sa posisyon ng Department of Justice na kailangang manatili muna sa loob ng Camp Aguinaldo si Pemberton.

Limang araw na mananatili si Pemberton sa AFP Custodial Center habang pinag-aaralan kung saan ikukulong ang nasabing Amerikano.

Sinabi ng DOJ na ang kanilang desisyon ay ibabase sa nilalaman ng Visting Forces Agreement na parehong ilagdaan ng Pilipinas at U.S.
