Palasyo: Michael Yang, hindi sangkot sa drug trade

Nanindigan ang Malakanyang na ang isa sa economic advisers ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na si Michael Yang ay hindi sangkot sa kalakalan ng droga.

Pahayag ito ng Palasyo kasunod ng paglutang ni Sr. Supt. Eduarto Acierto, dismissed deputy director for administration ng PNP Drug Enforcement Group (DEG) na nag-akusa sa Pangulo at kay dating PNP chief Ronald dela Rosa nang pagbalewala umano sa intelligence report ukol sa umanoy kaugnayan ni Yang sa illegal drugs.

Inakusahan ni Acierto ang Pangulo at si Dela Rosa ng pagharang umano ng imbestigasyon kay Yang.

Una rito ay nagpakita si Acierto ng mga dokumento ng umanoy kaugnayan ni Yang at isa pang Chinese na si Allan Lim sa kalakaran ng droga.

Pero itinanggi ni Presidential Spokesperon Salvado Panelo na may link si Yang sa droga.

“I think it was already clarified. Even the [Chinese] Ambassador [Zhao Jianhua] has cleared Michael Yang…I don’t think Michael Yang was ever involved, otherwise he should be on the [drug] list or should be facing charges,” pahayag ni Panelo sa media briefing sa Malakanyang.

Matatandaan na noong October 2018 ay inabswelto ni Duterte sa Yang, isang negosyante na naka-base sa Davao, sa anumang kaugnayan sa illegal drug trade.

Kalauanan ay kinumpirma ng Palasyo na si Yang ay nagsisilbing isa sa mga economic advisers ng Pangulo.
