BAYAN hihimukin ang MWSS na pagmultahin ang Manila Water
Hihilingin ng Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan) sa Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) na pagmultahin ang Manila Water at suspendihin ang water bill ngayong buwan ng Marso sa gitna ng naranasang water crisis.
Sa pahayag na inilabas ni Bayan Secretary-General Renato Reyes araw ng Linggo, sinabi nito na pormal na magsusumite ng reklamo ang grupo sa MWSS.
Ayon kay Reyes, nalabag ng water concessionaire ang contractual obligation nito na makapagbigay ng uninterrupted water service para sa mga customers.
Nais din ng grupo na makansela ang water rate increase at refund naman sa nakaraang dagdag-singil.
Hihimukin din ng Bayan ang MWSS na magsagawa ng public hearings upang malaman ang lawak ng perwisyong naidulot ng water shortage para madetermina ang dapat na multa.
“This is necessary to determine how households, businesses, and government offices were severely affected by the water crisis,” giit ni Reyes.
Sa pamamagitan ng formal complaint ay inaasahan umano ng consumers ng Manila Water ang pormal na sagot at aksyon mula sa MWSS.
