45 mayors kinasuhan dahil bigong bumuo ng anti-drug council
Kinasuhan ng Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) sa Office of the Ombudsman ng misconduct at dereliction of duty ang 45 na mga mayor dahil sa umanoy kabiguan na magtatag ng anti-drug abuse council (ADAC) sa kanilang mga lugar.
Ayon kay DILG Sec. Eduardo Año, ang reklamo laban sa 25 na alkalde ay isinampa ngayong Miyerkules habang ang unang batch ng kaso laban sa 20 mayors ay unang inihain noong March 14.
“Despite several directives from the DILG and the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB), the concerned mayors still failed or refused to comply with the said orders and their towns are among those that are without an organized and functional ADAC. For their refusal or neglect to organize their local ADAC, the 45 mayors have committed grave misconduct in office and gross dereliction of duty,” ani Año.
Matatandaan na pinirmahan ng DILG at Dangerous Drugs Board ang joint memorandum noong May 21, 2018 kung saan hinimok ang mga lokal na pamahalaan na bumuo ng ADACs.
Sinabi naman ni DILG assistant secretary Ricojudge Echiverri na ang 25 mayors ay bigong sundin ang nais ng DILG kaya dapat na madisiplina, suspendihin o tanggalin sa pwesto.
Ang inireklamong mga alkalde ay mula sa sumusunod na mga rehiyon:
- 15 – Bicol Region, partikular sa Albay, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Masbate, at Sorsogon provinces
- 7 – Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), parikular sa Basilan, Tawi-Tawi, at Lanao del Sur provinces
- 5 – Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), parikular sa Abra at Ifugao provinces
- 5 – Mimaropa, lahat mula sa Palawan province
- 4 – Central Visayas, lahat mula sa Cebu province
- 3 – CARAGA, lahat mula sa Agusan del Norte province
- 3 – Calabarzon, partikular sa Laguna at Quezon provinces
- 2 – Cagayan Valley, tig isa sa Cagayan province at Nueva Vizcaya
- 1 – Eastern Visayas
Ang kaso ang hiwalay sa reklamo ng DILG laban sa mga opisyal na nasa narco list.
